Organic Standards & Certification

FSSAI Active

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India licence is active. Required for domestic food processing and export operations from India.

Ecocert / NPOP Filed · Est. Q2 2026

Application filed with Ecocert under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP). On-site inspection completed. Certificate issuance expected Q2 2026. This is the primary certification enabling domestic and export organic claims.

NOP (USDA Organic) In Progress · Est. Q3 2026

NOP certification follows Ecocert's dual-certification pathway. Target Q3 2026, contingent on NPOP issuance. Required for products destined for the US market with an organic claim.

EU 2018/848 Evaluation · 2026

EU organic equivalence evaluation in progress via Ecocert's EU certification pathway. Timeline subject to NPOP issuance. Required for products sold as organic in the European Union.

Important Notice

Products are supplied as Ecocert-aligned (produced under organic standards, certification in process). No product should be labelled or marketed as "certified organic" until the relevant certificate is formally issued. Buyers should confirm certification status directly before making any organic claims on final products.

European Union

EU 2018/848 Organic Regulation

Est. Ready: Q4 2026

Certification Requirements

  • EU 2018/848 — EU organic equivalency certification via Ecocert pathway. In active evaluation, contingent on NPOP issuance (est. Q2 2026).
  • FSSAI — Active. Required at origin for export clearance.
  • NPOP (Ecocert) — Application filed. Inspection completed. Certificate est. Q2 2026. EU equivalency follows.

United States of America

USDA National Organic Program (NOP)

Est. Ready: Q3 2026

Certification Requirements

  • NOP (USDA Organic) — Certification follows NPOP issuance via Ecocert's dual-certification programme. Target Q3 2026.
  • FSSAI — Active. Recognised by FDA as Indian food-processing authority.
  • FDA Registration — Food facility registered. Required for US food imports.

US buyers can procure non-organic labelled product immediately. Organic-certified supply under NOP available Q3 2026. Tea and spice imports to the US are duty-variable — consult your customs broker for HTS classification.

United Kingdom

UK Organic Regulation (retained EU law, post-Brexit)

Est. Ready: Q2–Q3 2026

Certification Requirements

  • UK Organic (DEFRA-approved body) — UK retained EU organic law post-Brexit. Ecocert is a DEFRA-approved certification body. UK certification expected to follow NPOP issuance.
  • FSSAI — Active. Recognised for UK import compliance purposes.

  • Import declaration support documentation

  • UK Organic certificate (COI equivalent) — Q2–Q3 2026
UK importers can begin non-organic supply immediately. Post-Brexit UK organic imports require a UK Organic Certificate of Inspection (COI). Ecocert's DEFRA-approved status means our certification will cover both EU and UK simultaneously.

Australia

DAFF Biosecurity + ACO / NASAA Organic

Roadmap: 2027

Certification Requirements

  • ACO / NASAA Organic — Australian organic certification is a separate pathway (not EU/NOP equivalent). Planned for 2027 post-NOP issuance. Contact us to discuss your timeline.
  • FSSAI — Active. Accepted for Australian biosecurity and import documentation.
  • AQIS Phytosanitary — Phytosanitary certificate issued per shipment meeting Australian biosecurity requirements.

Australian buyers can procure non-organic labelled tea and spice product today — all biosecurity documentation is in place. For organic-labelled supply to Australia, please discuss your timeline with us as ACO certification is on our 2027 roadmap.
